RONALD L. GREENBLATT, Senior Partner

Ronald Greenblatt is a founding member and senior partner at Greenblatt, Funt and Flores, llc. He has successfully litigated over one thousand trials on charges ranging from homicide, homicide by vehicle, sexual assault charges, serious drug offenses, fraud and other white collar crime, internet crimes, driving under the influence cases, insanity defense cases and complex civil rights cases.

His legal career began in 1987 where he was a member of the Defender Association of Philadelphia. While there, Mr. Greenblatt was one of two lawyers appointed to the prestigious Special Defense Unit (SDU). While in this unit, Mr. Greenblatt received specialized training in forensics, including accident reconstruction, DNA and fingerprint training, ballistic training, training in the use of forensic psychiatry and psychology in the defense of criminal cases. He has also received training in media relations while successfully trying some of the areas highest profile cases.

His career in representing people goes back to 1982, when at the age of twenty he became one of the youngest union shop stewards in our nation's history when he was elected union shop steward for New Jersey Restaurant Local' 54 (now local 33). While there, he both fought grievances against; and filed grievances on behalf of his fellow union members.

Mr. Greenblatt has been given the prestigious AV rating by the Martindale-Hubbel ratings service. This ranking rates him as one of the preeminent lawyers in his field as judged by lawyers and judges in his field. He has lectured at both Rutgers University and Temple University. In addition, he has chaired seminars in both adult and juvenile criminal law.

Mr. Greenblatt is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey; Federal Court in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers of New Jersey, the Philadelphia Bar Association and the Camden County Bar Association.

JAMES FUNT, Partner

James A. Funt, a founding partner at Greenblatt, Funt, and Flores is one of the top young criminal lawyers in the region. He has successfully tried hundreds of criminal cases in both state and federal courts in New Jersey and Pennsylvania ranging from complex homicides to kidnappings, aggravated assaults, sexual assaults, large state and federal drug cases, and white collar crimes including cyber crimes.

Mr. Funt has a distinguished and diversified background as a litigator. He began his legal career in 1994 as a trial lawyer with the Defender Association of Philadelphia where he tried hundreds of serious criminal cases. In addition, Mr. Funt was one of two attorneys assigned to investigate and track cases involving allegations of police abuse and corruption. In 1997 Mr. Funt furthered his career joining the law firm of Willig, Williams, and Davidson, the area's premier labor and employment firm. There he represented unions and individual plaintiffs on complex labor and employment cases involving issues of race, gender and age discrimination as well as whistle-blowing matters.

Mr. Funt prides himself in his strong ties with the union movement and the Hispanic community. He has represented members and their families of various unions including Fire Fighters, Bakery Workers, Probation Officers, Steel & Rubber Workers, Teamsters, Postal Workers, Teachers, Septa workers, Food and Commercial Workers Painters, Glaziers and Roofers. In addition to his criminal trial experience, he has also represented workers in various grievance and disciplinary actions.

Mr. Funt began advocating for workers' rights while living in Mexico in the early 1990's where he spearheaded a variety of humanitarian and development projects. He is fluent in Spanish and remains active in the Hispanic community.

Mr. Funt is admitted to practice law in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, Federal Courts in New Jersey, and the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers of New Jersey, the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Camden County and Philadelphia Bar Associations, and the Hispanic Bar Association.

MARGARET M. FLORES, Partner

Margaret Flores is a partner at Greenblatt, Funt & Flores, llc. She has successfully tried hundreds of criminal cases such as sexual assaults, assaults, drug offenses, DUI's, thefts, frauds, forgery and cyber crimes. In addition to criminal law, her practice includes family law where she has zealous advocated and effectively litigated custody, support, divorce and protection from abuse cases. Her practice also includes appellate and civil rights work.

A cum laude graduate of Kings College, she was a four year recipient of the Presidential Academic Scholarship. She graduated from the National Law Center at the George Washington University in 1996. Her legal career began at the Defender's Association of Philadelphia. While at the Defender Association she was selected to train and supervise new attorneys because of her advanced trial skills. Additionally, she was chosen as part of an elite team of attorneys to represent the protesters arrested at the Republican National Convention in Philadelphia the summer of 2000.

Ms. Flores has appeared in courts in Philadelphia, Montgomery, Delaware and Bucks County as well as the District of Columbia and New Jersey. She is a member of Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers of New Jersey, Philadelphia Bar Association, Camden County Bar Association and the Hispanic Bar Association. Ms. Flores also serves on the board of directors for the Men's Resource Center in Philadelphia.

THOMAS IVORY, Partner

Thomas Ivory joined Greenblatt, Funt & Flores in November 2006.  He is a successful trial lawyer having tried several hundreds of trials on charges of homicide by vehicle, robbery, burglary, sexual assault charges, drug offenses, white-collar charges, Food and Drug Administration charges, internet offenses, driving under the influence cases and traffic and driver licensing issues in Federal and District court in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties.

Thomas joined the Defender Association of Philadelphia in 1996.  While at the Defender Association, Thomas was in the major trials unit and tried many major jury trials.  In 2000, he joined Joel Every and Associates.  That firm handled a prepaid legal plan for the members of Local 57 of the Laborer’s Union as well as a similar plan for United Independent Unions.  Mr. Ivory handled all the criminal cases for Every and Associates with a great deal of success.  While there, he developed expertise in the legal issues surrounding driving licensing and traffic violations.  From 2003 to 2006 he practiced as a sole practitioner in criminal defense and in traffic and driving licensing issues.  A member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Mr. Ivory has developed a reputation as one of the leading lawyers in the areas of DUI, driver licensing restoration and traffic offenses in the City of Philadelphia .  He also continues to try major and misdemeanor criminal cases. 

A native of Ireland who came to the United States aged 22, Mr. Ivory graduated cum laude with Honors from the University of Arizona in 1993.  He continued at the University of Arizona for law school where he graduated in 1996.  Mr. Ivory is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and Federal Court in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.  He is a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association and the Brehon Law Society.  He is a proud sponsor and member of White Horse Rugby Club.
